Destiny Modeste 

Destiny Modeste is a 19 year old junior from Brooklyn, NY. She is attending Paul Quinn College on a Presidential Scholarship. In Brooklyn, she was selected to join the DEWeezy project team which included being the driving force behind a brand new Mtn Dew TV commercial starring Lil' Wayne. While working on the project she helped conceptualize the idea, assisted in selecting storyboards, and produced the commercial in Miami, FL. Traveling from Brooklyn, she's continuing her journey here in Dallas working towards receiving her bachelors in business, exhibiting tremendous leadership skills by being a student ambassador as Ms. Purple PQC 2014.

 

As a member of Paul Quinn's partnership with Duke University, she has helped organize a PhotoVoice participatory research project in which community members expressed their environmental concerns for their health and well-being. This created awareness for Highland Hills food-dessert problem and is only the first phase to completing her goals in redeveloping under-resourced communities. In the interim, she has attended numerous conferences and seminars,through internships, in hopes of enhancing her knowledge and expanding her network.
